Making Lemonade from the Covid-19 Lemon

It has certainly not been easy. My family is a regular to restaurants, movie theatres, and parks. The freedom to walk about without fear of getting sick or getting someone else seek seems so long ago.

But, with God and music, I find relief…

Police shootings, race, & resisting arrest

To say that there has not been a historical conflict between law enforcement and the black community in the United States is to bury your head in the sand. History has created a distrust between both sides, and the divide doesn’t appear to be getting any better due to recent news.

Happy New Year 2014!

I just wanted to take time out to wish you a Happy New Year and to let you know about some of the happenings in my music ministry. RADIO PLAY 2013 was a great year as a number of singles off of “The Start of a New Life” received terrestrial and internet radio play. Currently, […]

Stop using the phrase “reproductive health” to explain abortion

Stop using the phrase “reproductive health” to explain abortion

The definition of “health” is “the state of being free from illness or injury.” Plenty of quotes today regarding Governor Brown’s signing of abortion bill AB 154 (allowing non-physicians to perform “suction” abortions in the first trimester) that are using the phrase “reproductive health.” Says Kathy Kneer, CEO of Planned Parenthood Affiliates of California: Brown […]

The Martin Trial: If Trayvon, in fact, Killed Zimmerman

The Martin Trial: If Trayvon, in fact, Killed Zimmerman

Just saw a Daily Show bit on the Zimmerman verdict. It failed for the simple fact that it tried to allege a connection between the black woman who could not use the Stand Your Ground law and got 20 years for merely shooting a gun in the air and Zimmerman, who allegedly got off using […]

Rachel Jeantel on Piers Morgan last night

Rachel Jeantel on Piers Morgan last night

Rachel Jeantel, the first witness for the prosecution in the George Zimmerman case, was on Piers Morgan last night, and I caught a brief glimpse. She was obviously – and understandably – furious at the defense attorney, Don West. The fact of the matter is that West did his job of trying to eviscerate her […]

What happened to the shades of gray?

What happened to the shades of gray?

I understand how many of my friends are upset with the Texas abortion law because it infringes on a woman’s right to do what she wants with her body. What irks me is labeling the motivation of such a law as designed to “take away women’s rights” or as an example of a patriarchal society’s […]

Christian Evangelism Gone Bad: Jesus knows best, we should know better, we should love better

Christian Evangelism Gone Bad: Jesus knows best, we should know better, we should love better

There’s a scene in the great action movie “Die Hard With A Vengeance” where our hero John McClane is forced to wear an “I Hate N*ggers” sign around his body, in the middle of Harlem, so as to prevent massive casualties via a bomb set to explode somewhere in New York City. The director didn’t […]

On the media coverage of Jason Collins and his coming out

On the media coverage of Jason Collins and his coming out

From a conversation with a mentor today, I’m thinking: How much “prouder” of basketballer Jason Collins would we be if he saved a child from a raging fire? I’m just not buying into someone announcing – at the twilight of his career – “I have a sexual attraction to men” as something to admire. Were […]

In May, 2005, Rob was a secular, Jewish, thirty-something, Los Angeles, personal injury attorney whose idea of getting up early on a Sunday was getting up for the third quarter of the first televised, NFL games.

Thirsting on the idea of playing in a band for the first time in a decade, Rob finally accepted his neighbor's request to get up at seven-in-the-morning on Sundays in order to participate.

Eleven months later, his world was turned upside down by Jesus. Instantly, he began leading songs on the worship team and was the worship leader from 2010-2022.

Rob is now the worship leader at Calvary Chapel Malibu. He released his fifth album “The Author of My Story” on December 15, 2023, available on all of your favorite streaming platforms… and he is preparing to launch a new Christian teaching podcast called “Christ Supremacist.”
